Latest Reviews from TripAdvisor.com on Metro Hotel Sydney Central

5 of 5 starsReviewed 4 July 2013
We got a late special on wotif for an upgrade to a deluxe room on a Saturday nigh for $140. When we arrived we were upgraded to a master suite on the top floor! The hotel was great for doing things down the Central end of town, eg the outlets at Haymarket, book store at Central and a short walk to the QVB. It was very well furnished and was very quiet, especially considering its so close to the train line. Will definitely stay here again, it would be a perfect place to stay if you were seeing a show at the Capital!

Just stayed here for the lions tour i was surprised we got the room at such a competitive rate given how busy the hotel and city were.Great overall value, service from the front desk was excellent. Location is good really central, the room was adequate.

“Great Value, Great Location” - Apsire Hotel Sydney

Darling Harbour is a great place to stay. This hotel is in a quiet residential street within 5 - 7 minutes of the tram and monorail stop, 5 minutes to the Powerhouse Museum and Paddy's Market. The rooms are large and well appointed, beds comfortable, good clean bathroom with plenty of hot water, and a hair dryer - nice ! Air conditioned, but also a lovely balcony door with an insect screen so I could have fresh air which was wonderful.

I'm not sure what people are expecting for a budget hotel price but it was certainly well within what I wanted. No bells and whistles - I don't care about digital TV and DVD players, I'm not going to be sitting in my room ! It doesn't matter if the decor isn't the latest, as long as it fulfills the function, and you don't need to have food on site. There is a very nice all day breakfast cafe 2 minutes away with a wonderful menu, and several other cafes in the area. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone on a budget and it will be my hotel of choice the next time I come to Sydney.
