Review by Carly (from Australia):

"Perfect Location"

 • Leisure trip
 • Couple
 • Budget Double Room
 • Stayed 1 night

We were only staying over night so the size of the room was ample and had enough space to be comfortable. The location is in the heart of the city. The staff were friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was awesome.

Earth Hour @ Metro Hotel on Pitt - Sat 28 March 2015

Earth Hour @ Metro Hotel on Pitt - Sat 28 March 2015

Earth Hour launched in Sydney in 2007, with 2.2 million people and 2,100 businesses participating in the ‘lights off’ event. Just one year later, Earth Hour became a global phenomenon with over 35 countries participating, and an estimated 50-100 million people.

In 2014, Earth Hour was celebrated in over 162 countries and over 7000 cities and towns worldwide. The symbolic hour has grown into the world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment, with beyond the hour projects and initiatives happening throughout the year.

Earth Hour is a great home-grown success story: an Aussie campaign designed to draw attention to tackling global warming and get people talking about what we can do to help.

In Australia, Earth Hour is something that really brings communities together, with 1 in every 3 Aussies taking part.

At Metro Hotel on Pitt, we are starting a corporate responsibility program that will entail us committing ourselves to being a part of the wider community in a socially or environmentally responsible way.

We will be joining in Earth Hour by getting our main lobby area as dark as can be feasibly managed. We’re inviting you to once again join in the action as we throw our support behind Aussie food and farmers.

We grew up with healthy, homegrown food and we all want our children to have the same opportunity. But our food is already being affected by global warming. This includes everything from the bananas we enjoy on our breakfast cereal every morning and our avocado and Vegemite on toast, to our lunchtime ham, cheese, tomato and lettuce wrap, and spaghetti bolognese - our dinnertime favourite.

Latest TripAdvisor review about Metro Apartments on Darling Harbour - Dec 2014

Latest TripAdvisor review about Metro Apartments on Darling Harbour - Dec 2014

“Outstanding location at Darling Harbor”
4 of 5 starsReviewed 30 December 2014 by gwsdb
Had a few days at the Metro Apartments recently and we were very pleased with the location and quality of the units. We had 7th floor apartment with great views over Darling Harbor. Our stay included a Saturday night and we had an excellent view of the weekly fireworks display. Bedroom / bathroom is located in a loft area so these apartments would not be suitable for people who have difficulty with stairs. Rooms are well maintained, are very clean and well appointed. Darling Harbor and its many good restaurants is a 5-8 minute walk , Skycity Casino/ Lyric Theatre is approx. 15min walk over Pyrmont Bridge. Wynyard Station is approx. 5 minute walk and its not to far to walk to good shopping and Paddys markets. Nightly rate was realistic for Sydney due to our longer stay. Wifi was fast and free.
Room Tip: Higher rooms are better for views.

Latest Tripadvisor Reviews on Metro Hotel Sydney Central - Jan 2015

Latest Tripadvisor Reviews on Metro Hotel Sydney Central - Jan 2015

4 of 5 starsReviewed 3 days ago by AussieBunchNEW
Spent one night here when we went visited Sydney to see Dirty Dancing at the Lyric Theatre. Hotel has been renovated and the room was clean and tidy, bathroom clean bit only partially renovated, toilet was old, tiles regrouted but old. Hotel is in an elegant location, opposite the Capitol Theatre, waking distance to Central, Paddy's Markets, Chinatown and Darling Harbour. Would stay there again no problem, got a great deal on Agoda, book 3 rooms, each had a Queen and Single bed.

Loved our stay here!! Close enough to walk to so many attractions, like Chinatown, Darling Harbour, Hyde Park, Central Station is 100m walk away and bus stops dotted every couple of metres. Staff were fantastic, excellent and helpful. Room itself was beautiful and clean when we arrived. Only downside was the TV was a bit staticky with some channels but it didn't impact our viewing much. Would definitely stay here again 10/10 recommend!!
