I stayed here for 2 nights the room was clean and tidy. It is close to public transport , bars and a number of good asian resturants. If travelling to or from the airport i would use the train as it is much cheaper than using a taxi ,train approx $16 taxi approx $40 +. I would stay here again.

This hotel has a terrific position in Pitt St, one block from the light rail stop, around the corner from Paddy's market, a short stroll through the now cleaned up park to trains everywhere from Central, and a short taxi ride to Opera on the Harbour in the Botanic Gardens. The Opera House is a train ride away followed by a very pleasant harbourside stroll to your evening out.

The rooms are not huge or fancy but quite comfortable and you will not get scalded by hot water in the bathroom. Rooms facing Goulburn St? are less noisy than Pitt and George Streets especially on friday nights. The breakfast price is on par with any of the surrounding restaurants and easier to get to without having to dress up.

Review from TripAdvisor.com on Metro Hotel Miranda

“Get the Refurbished Rooms”
4 of 5 starsReviewed May 5, 2013
I stayed for one night, in a refurbished room on the fourth floor.

I must say the exterior of the building and the carpark give a decidedly "run down" feel upon arrival. The reception area is small and modest. I booked a room on the fourth floor after reading reviews on Trip Advisor.... and I am so glas I did.
The rooms have been refurbished to a very good standard. They are stylish, the furnishings are all good quality, and the bathroom was really great. It has a big shower (hot water came instantly when turned on which I love, as some hotels you can wait for 5 mins), lovely basin with chic tap ware. The bed and pillows were comfy, it had a nice large new TV.

I did speak to another guest staying in a non refurbished room, and the feedback was not good at all.

It is in a handy location, directly across from a Westfield, and only a very short stroll to a nice pub and selection of restaurants.

Next time I need to stay down this way, I will stay here again.

Review of Metro Hotel Miranda on TripAdvisor.com

we arrived late for check in and noticed the door was locked. luckily there was someone on duty and we were given the access code to enter the hotel. we were lucky enough to be staying in the 4th floor as i did not previously requested for it. the rooms are clean and very spacious. it did look like it was refurbished a little. the lifts are old, slow and can be quite noisy but we were given the rooms furthur away so it was fine. the air conditioner is quite noisy but luckily for us we had a natural air-con just by opening the window.

the location is great for a overnight stay as we were planning to head to the south coast the next day. it is right beside westfields which makes it easier to just pop by to grab so brekkie at woolies or any nearby cafe. the car park is pretty big and its free!
