Review from TripAdvisor.com on Metro Hotel Miranda

“Get the Refurbished Rooms”
4 of 5 starsReviewed May 5, 2013
I stayed for one night, in a refurbished room on the fourth floor.

I must say the exterior of the building and the carpark give a decidedly "run down" feel upon arrival. The reception area is small and modest. I booked a room on the fourth floor after reading reviews on Trip Advisor.... and I am so glas I did.
The rooms have been refurbished to a very good standard. They are stylish, the furnishings are all good quality, and the bathroom was really great. It has a big shower (hot water came instantly when turned on which I love, as some hotels you can wait for 5 mins), lovely basin with chic tap ware. The bed and pillows were comfy, it had a nice large new TV.

I did speak to another guest staying in a non refurbished room, and the feedback was not good at all.

It is in a handy location, directly across from a Westfield, and only a very short stroll to a nice pub and selection of restaurants.

Next time I need to stay down this way, I will stay here again.

we arrived late for check in and noticed the door was locked. luckily there was someone on duty and we were given the access code to enter the hotel. we were lucky enough to be staying in the 4th floor as i did not previously requested for it. the rooms are clean and very spacious. it did look like it was refurbished a little. the lifts are old, slow and can be quite noisy but we were given the rooms furthur away so it was fine. the air conditioner is quite noisy but luckily for us we had a natural air-con just by opening the window.

the location is great for a overnight stay as we were planning to head to the south coast the next day. it is right beside westfields which makes it easier to just pop by to grab so brekkie at woolies or any nearby cafe. the car park is pretty big and its free!

Review on TripAdvisor.com about Metro Hotel on Pitt

4 of 5 starsReviewed May 14, 2013
It looks like an old style hotel, small room, no balcony nor a nice view...but it's clean and have a comfy mattress :) , located in the heart of Sydney, makes it a good location hotel with a good price. :) compare with another hotel which are more expensive on that area. Easy to go anywhere. 5 minutes walking to the museum train station or monorail, 10 minutes to the Harbour and Haymarket where you can find a lot of souvenir there. Affordable & comfort hotel in the city, definitely value for money!

We stayed 2 nights at the Metro Hotel on Pitt. We chose the Executive Deluxe room, as we wanted to make sure we had a bit of room to move around in. It was a large room, and was really good having the extra little lounge area. Both nights were really quiet, no traffic noise except for the occasional siren. Large and lovely updated bathroom. The staff are nice and helpful. The TV wasn't that big as others have stated, but we didn't go there for that! We were far too busy enjoying Sydney. For the cost of the stay it was perfect. So close to everything, we walked everywhere. Would definitely stay again.
Room Tip: If you would like a bit more room choose the executive deluxe rooms

Reviews from TripAdvisor.com on Metro Apartments on Darling Harbour

5 of 5 starsReviewed May 1, 2013
We as a family of 4 wanted an affordable location close to the city - we got a great deal at Metro Darling Harbour.
The steps entering could be a problem for older/less able travellers, but we managed fine, and enjoyed the close proximity to Darling Harbour and public transport. Overall pretty good value for money and front desk staff very helpful and nice.

Fantastic Location!!!! From our room it took about one minute to walk to Darling Harbor. I was travelling with two kids who are quite lazy and i knew they would not be up for walking every where. But we used the mono rail to get around and they had a blast. We went into town did shopping a few days and Powerhouse Museum, Wax Museum,Paddy's Markets, Maritime Museum, Jet Boats and Sydney Eye. Metro Apartment were central to all these locations and kids did not complain once. The view from our room was to die for. Thanks for a fantastic first weekend away for over 20yrs. Will defiantly be back.
